All's Well That Ends Well
4/18, 11pm-1am
A Shakespeare production, presented by Tatienne Hendricks-Tellefsen and Matthew DeCostanza. A marriage is arranged between the low-born Helena and the callow young nobleman Bertram, and all seems well—until Bertram flees to Italy, leaving his old life in the dust. What he doesn't count on is how doggedly the spurned Helena will hunt him, each phase of her pursuit more desperate and vengeful than the last. This new production of Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well, infused with industrial music and inspired by the urban dilapidation of West Germany in the 1980s, invites us to interrogate and engage with the suspiciously obstinate cheeriness of Shakespeare's title, since, obviously, all is not well.
